Part 2: Awards
∑ Grand Prize: The writer of the winning screenplay will be offered an option on the script by a sponsoring production company at $4,500.00 for one year.
∑ Finalists: All five finalists will receive $150, script coverage, have their entry fee waived for the next River City Write Off, and other gifts from our sponsors.

Part 3: Rules and Guidelines∑ All applications must be postmarked on or before June 1, 2007. The 5 finalists will be announced by July 2, 2007. The winner will be announced ay July 28, 2007.
∑ Screenplays will not be considered unless accompanied by a signed entry form and an entry fee. Entry fee is $30 U.S. for the regular deadline of May 16, and $35 U.S. for the late deadline of June 1. Entry fees must be paid by check or money order made out to Inkwell Design LLC. Entry fees will not be returned or adjusted. Entry checks which are returned by your bank will incur a $15 fee.
∑ Revisions and missing pages will not be considered after the screenplay is received, so please be sure you are submitting the correct and complete draft of your work.
∑ Applicants must send materials via regular mail (which includes UPS, FedEx, etc). The River City Write Off is not responsible for lost or stolen materials.
∑ One screenplay per entry form and entry fee will be accepted. You may submit more than one screenplay, but an entry form and entry fee must be included with each additional screenplay.
∑ The title page should contain only your script title. Author’s name(s) should not appear anywhere on the screenplay to ensure the anonymity of judging.
∑ Materials will not be returned under any circumstance. We recommend that you register all of your written material with the Writers Guild of America.
∑ If a collaborative work is submitted, the writers must designate one writer as the primary contact on the entry form.
∑ Writer must be 18 or older to be eligible. Written must own chain of title for screenplay in order to qualify for grand prize—we can’t option your script if someone else already owns it. Screenplays must be the original work of the applicant(s). If based upon another's life experience, applicant(s) must attach a statement attesting to their rights to make such adaptations.
∑ All entries must be in English and standard U.S. screenplay format and length. Feature screenplays are generally between 90 and 130 pages.
∑ Please include a synopsis of the screenplay along with the entry.
∑ The River City Write Off is dedicated to giving writers the best possible chance at a produced film. Please keep in mind that the winning script will be one that the judges feel can be produced in accordance with a sub-twenty million dollar budget and in the general Richmond metro area. Scripts which hinge on complex sci-fi action sequences, multiple exotic locales, or guest appearances by U2 are therefore less likely to win.
∑ In order to receive a notification letter at the close of judging, please include with your application a self addressed stamped envelope.
∑ Screenplays will be judged by a panel of experienced film professionals. Judging will be anonymous-- that is, your entry form(s) and screenplay(s) will be assigned corresponding numbers, and your screenplay(s) will be identifiable to the judges by number only. Judges' decisions are final.
∑ Volunteers and staff of Inkwell Design, Studio 108 Films, and Mark Joy Productions and their immediate families are not eligible for entry.MAIL ENTRIES TO:
